Rainbow Arrows #NOTD

For a while I wasn’t into nail art. I’m not really sure what happened, but doing my nails became a chore. Painting my nails only takes 10 minutes, but nail art? That can take an hour to do. But in a moment of clarity, I sat down and created this fun rainbow gradient nail art using some stamping. Find out how I got this rainbow arrows #NOTD and how I do my gradients!

Makeup Flashback: Pink Underliner

June 16, 2017

It’s been a bit since I’ve blogged about makeup! Weekends are really the only time I get to wear the bright, colorful makeup that makes me feel most myself. Usually I opt for bright eyeliner with a subtle lip, and this look was no different. I took some inspiration from a look I did in 2012 and did a fun pink underliner look! Find out how I got this look down below.

The Dumb Reason Why I Started Collecting Vinyl Records

The Dumb Reason Why I Started Collecting Vinyl Records | The Rebel Planner

This is a Rebel Post. Rebel Posts are off-topic posts about anything I feel like writing about. Please enjoy.

For a really long time I was one of those annoying people that couldn’t understand why vinyl was making a come back. It seemed like at every garage sale we had my dad was trying to sell off his records. No one ever wanted them year after year. I would go into record shops and see bin upon bin of albums no one wanted anymore. Collections that probably took years and hundreds of dollars to build up were dumped at shops for $20. It didn’t make any sense to me.

But then curiosity got the best of me. Why was vinyl making a come back? I started doing some light research into vinyl records. What players are out there? How much do they cost? What equipment do I need? After an exhausting 15 minutes of research, I decided vinyl records weren’t for me. $20+ for a new record? And that’s not even for big names like Ed Sheeran or Adele whose records can reach up to $50. I couldn’t justify the high price range when I pay $4.99 a month for seemingly every song ever recorded.

Blog + Life Updates

May 10, 2017

Hi everyone! It’s been a while.

I’m not going to lie: this past month has been a doozy for me. I lost interest in a lot of my hobbies. I hadn’t planned in my planner for more than a month. My nails were left bare for FOUR DAYS. I didn’t do my makeup besides the minimum to look decent. It was rough.

I hate that I let my blog go to the wayside. But even thinking of going through the grind of taking pictures, editing them, writing up posts and scheduling out social media felt like a chore. I was hard pressed to think of ideas and my motivation was gone.

But this past week, I started planning again. I took out my planner, set up my stickers and post-planned the week I saw The Maine twice and my friend Michele visited. Of course it was The Maine that got me into my groove again.

Then something great happened. I was watching a Plan With Me from Kayla (Microscope Beauty/Oh, Hello Stationery Co.) and I felt inspired to open WordPress and write how I felt. So here’s that post.

Blogging was once my priority, but I let that get to the bottom of my list of favorite things to do. But now that I’m writing again, I’m not going to force it. All I want is to be writing again. I miss it dearly.

So, here are the three things I’m doing to get myself motivated again:

  1. Not Forcing Posts
I’m not going to force myself to get a set number of posts out each week. If I don’t get 3 posts out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, that’s ok! If I only post once a week, that’s alright! I’m not even going to force myself to get certain posts up like reviews or favorites. If I feel like writing about it, that’s what I’m going to do.
  2. Writing About Other Topics
Something that I think about a lot is writing about other topics. While beauty, nails and planning remain some of favorite things to do and write about, I have other interests, too! I want to write about my new vinyl hobby and about other loves like TV. Maybe I’ll write a opinion piece! Who knows. I want to call these Rebel Posts and I’ll make sure to label these posts as so. I don’t want these to be the main focus of my blog or overtake beauty posts, but if they help my blog regularly again, then so be it.
  3. HAVE FUN!
For a while I was taking blogging really seriously and I wasn’t having fun at all. I was too worried about SEO and the perfect edited picture to focus on what made me blog in the first place: sharing my interests. I have to get back to that!

Thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog in the mean time. I’ve had consistent views even though I haven’t posted in a month. Thanks for being the best.

If you want me to write about something or tackle a subject, leave a comment down below and let me know.

Liquid Silica For Nail Growth: 30 Day Results

Liquid Silica for Nail Growth: 30 Day Results

We’ve all seen it in every magazine we’ve read: supplements will help your hair, skin and nails grow longer, stay pimple free, and grow stronger. I’ve tried biotin, collagen and multi-vitamins to help my nails grow faster, stronger and longer. But those three left me with acne, nasty hair, and no help in growing the strong nails that I wanted. I don’t know how I found out about liquid silica, but after reading only one article, I knew that I would give this a try. In that article, the author explained that they used liquid silica for nail growth and hair growth, but mostly for nail growth. They said that biotin hadn’t helped them grow nails, but liquid silica did. It was on sale on Amazon that week, so I said “why not” and decided to try it out. Read below for my 30 day update!

Periwinkle Floral #NOTD

March 24, 2017

Today I’m sharing yet another nail art that I did! I used a new to me stamping plate and a brand new polish. Check it out down below!

For this look I used Wet n Wild’s Peri-wink-le Of An Eye as the base. I had a China Glaze color that’s similar, but it took theee coats to get opaque and was streaky. This was two coats to perfection.

After that dried I used Bundle Monster BM-XL217. I got this plate a while ago, but never saw the use in using it until Spring came around. I love this plate! The designs are perfect for this time of year.

For the stamping I used my favorite MoYou London Crystal Clear Stamper and Bundle Monster Bam! White stamping polish.

This nail art looks like elegant, sophisticated wallpaper to me. I love how this looks on my nails. I’m not a huge floral person, but this design is too pretty. I can’t wait to play around with his plate some more.

Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette Review

Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette Review

I’ve been on a Wet n Wild kick, haven’t I? It started with the liquid lipsticks, then to the brand’s newest foundation, and now this eyeshadow palette. I was never into Wet n Wild, but after trying the ombre blushes last year, I’ve fallen head over heels for this brand. When I saw this palette in CVS, my first thought was that it looked like the Urban Decay Naked palette. My second thought was to try it out and review it for you guys! So, without further ado, check out my Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette review down below!

Bundle Monster Peace Out, Astronaut #NOTD

Bundle Monster Peace Out, Astronaut #NOTD

For a while there I thought I wouldn’t be able to do nail art for a long time. All of my nails broke and they looked awful. On top of that,  my cuticles were a mess. They haven’t fully grown back yet. However, they’ve gotten to a point where I can do nail art without pain and have it look good on some manicured nails. When I bought the Bundle Monster Festival nail plate set last year, I bought it mostly for plate BM-S303. That plate has the coolest images on it. So, using that plate and BM-2305, I create this nail art design that I never want to take off. Seriously, the arrows look so cool. Found out how I got this Bundle Monster Peace Out, Astronaut #NOTD down below!
